The Gift of Giving

Weddings are a celebration of the coming together of two people, a recognition of the life they are about to share together in matrimony. They can also be an opportunity to celebrate the lives of the family and friends closest to the couple, after all many ‘in-law’ relationships are established at the moment the vows are exchanged.

Jacqueline Brazier, a bride-to-be from Cheltenham, lost her mother in 1996 after a fight with breast cancer and an eventual brain haemorrage. Rather than wedding gifts when she ties the knot with her fiancé in August she has asked all of her guests to donate money to the Breast Cancer Campaign with the aim of raising over £2,000 towards helping current and future sufferers.

She said “The last few months of my mum’s life were filled with happiness and joy and she always had a real zest for everything she did.

“Because of all the research and work that had been done on breast cancer, she was recovering well and was able to live life to the full.

“Ever since her death I have always wanted to do something to honour her memory and pay respect to all those who support, research and work with breast cancer.”

Jacqueline is also planning to raise further donations by running  the London Marathon in April. If you would like to contribute and help Jacqueline reach her goal visit www.justgiving.com/jaqbrazier
